COP17 Slogan Officially Announced

Ulaanbaatar, February 6, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The slogan of the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP17), “Restoring Land, Restoring Hope,” has been announced.
The slogan underscores that desertification, land degradation, and drought are not only environmental crises but fundamental issues affecting humanity’s future, livelihoods, and the foundations of sustainable development. In other words, combating land degradation and restoring ecosystems are seen as key to bringing hope for peace and sustainable development for humankind.
Mongolia
will host COP17 in Ulaanbaatar from August 17 to 28, 2026. The conference will
discuss concrete global solutions on land restoration, pasture management,
livelihoods, and sustainable development, with representatives from more than
190 countries expected to participate.
