Mongol Script Contest Organized in Irkutsk, Russia

Ulaanbaatar, May 7, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Consulate General of Mongolia in Irkutsk of the Russian Federation hosted a Mongol Script Contest “National Script – Cultural Heritage” on May 4, 2025, with the support of the National Library of Mongolia.
A total of 110 participants took part in the Mongol Script Contest with three categories, demonstrating their knowledge, skills, and creativity. Also, Calligrapher D. Batmunkh, a Teacher from the “Melmiin Khutuch” Academy, conducted a basic brush calligraphy workshop.
Since 2018, the “Kharaatsai” Club, operating under the Buryat Cultural Center of Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, has offered Mongol script and brush calligraphy classes to around 300 students and enthusiasts. The Club plays a pivotal role in preserving and promoting the history and culture of the Mongol and Buryat people.
The Contest was co-organized by the Ministry of Education of Mongolia, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia, the National Library of Mongolia, the “Khumuun Bichig” Newspaper of MONTSAME Mongolian National News Agency, the Association of Mongol Script, and “Ulamjlal” Magazine.
