Ulaanbaatar, August 26, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Summary of events for the week of August 26 - September 1, 2024.


August 15-30: There is an irregular session of the State Great Khural of Mongolia.

August 25-26: At the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi will pay an official visit to Mongolia.

August 26: A Joint Ceremonial Parade of the Armed Forces of Mongolia and the Russian Federation will be held in Choibalsan soum of Dornod aimag, commemorating the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Khalkha River.

August 26-28: The International Association of Mongol Studies, the National University of Mongolia, and the Gandantegchinlen Monastery will host a conference titled "Mongolian Buddhism Studies."

August 26-29: The U.S. Embassy in Mongolia, in collaboration with the Mongolian Film Institute, will organize "American Documentary Film Days" at the Gegeenten Cinema. All screenings will be free of charge.

August 28: The regular meeting of the Cabinet will be held at the State Palace.

August 28-September 2: Candidates nomination process by the political parties that were registered for the 2024 regular election of the People’s Representative Khural of the soums, aimags, districts, and the Capital city and individual nomination will continue.



Until August 28: The Exhibition "2 days in Mongolia" by 15 artists from Mongolia and Germany, displayed in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, will be open to the public at the Fine Arts Zanabazar Museum.

September 1: The academic year of 2024-2025 will begin, and President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa will give an online lesson on the "Constitution of Mongolia."

From August 22: A 14-day military archeological excavation will be held in Khalkh soum, Dornod aimag.

Until September 16: The "Khalkha River - 85 Years" Exhibition dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Khalkha River Victory will be displayed at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum of Mongolia.

Until September 18: The "Resilience - Stories of Women Inspiring Change" Special Exhibition will be displayed.

Until September 22: The "17 Faces of Action" photo exhibition, organized as part of the "World Women's Forum," will continue at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum of Mongolia.

The 15th Sports Games of Librarians will be held in Uliastai soum of Zavkhan aimag on August 24-26, 2024.
