Government Resolution on Winter Preparation Approved

Ulaanbaatar, August 7, 2024 /MONTSAME/. At its regular session on August 7, 2024, the Cabinet of Mongolia approved the Resolution on Preparation for the Winter of 2024-2025 in the Agricultural Sector.
The Resolution tasked Cabinet Members and Directors of Agencies to urgently complete the following tasks:
- Take all-round measures to stockpile sufficient amounts of wheat, oil products, petroleum, and fuel, ensuring a constant supply
- Prepare and stockpile fodder for livestock
- Define preliminary crop balances in each type
- Ensure necessary manpower, equipment, and organization for harvesting
- Create an accurate risk map of dzud and other natural disasters based on weather forecasts
- Issue public warnings of natural disasters
- Put livestock in economic circulation and trade agriculture raw materials on the Agricultural Exchange
- Avoid any measures to limit the price of agricultural products
- Increase the number of ports to pass meat and meat products, natural hay and fodder, and fertilizers
- Prevent closures and icing-up of roads and passes
- Provide the children of migrating families with access to kindergarten, school, and boarding school regardless of jurisdiction of residence
