Mongolia to Launch Direct Flights to Five South Korean Cities
SocietyUlaanbaatar, May 9, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The Ministry of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia has initiated a goal of “Affordable Ticket - Available Flights” in the civil aviation sector.
This year, the Ministry aims at transporting 2.2 million passengers by air, finalizing a new air relations agreement, and increasing the frequency and number of direct flights. Today, Jin Air Co. Ltd. of the Republic of Korea inaugurated the first Muan-Ulaanbaatar flight, which landed at Chinggis Khaan International Airport.
As a result, direct flights from Mongolia to five cities in the Republic of Korea—Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Cheongju, and Muan—are now possible. The schedule includes 27 weekly flights between Ulaanbaatar and Seoul and 22 in the opposite direction. Additionally, there are 5 weekly flights between Ulaanbaatar and Busan, with up to 15 weekly flights to Muan, Daegu, and Cheongju. All these flights are scheduled with unlimited seating capacity.
Jin Air will operate flights between Muan and Ulaanbaatar until September 2024. These flights will occur twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Departures from Muan International Airport are scheduled for 9:30 PM local time, arriving in Ulaanbaatar at 12:30 AM. The return flights will depart from Ulaanbaatar at 1:30 AM and arrive in Muan at 5:50 AM.
