Sustainable Development Goals Action Weekend Held in New York
PoliticsUlaanbaatar, September 19, 2023 /MONTSAME/. The Sustainable Development
Goals Action Weekend was held in New York on September 16-17, 2023 in
anticipation of the Sustainable Development Goals Summit during the General Debate
of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Mongolia took part in the Action Weekend and in cooperation with Botswana and the United Nations High Representative for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and the International Trade Center, organized the "Rebuilding Lost Opportunities of Landlocked Developing Countries: The Role of Trade and Digitization” Side Event in addition to the Side Event “Increasing Gender-Based Financing: Tools for Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals” in cooperation with the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
At these events, Mongolia's
Permanent Representative to the United Nations V. Enkhbold introduced the
policies and activities implemented by the Government of Mongolia in the
framework of the national implementation of sustainable development goals,
development of e-economy, ensuring gender equality, and shared experiences in
addressing the challenges faced by micro, small, and medium producers, and supporting
women entrepreneurs, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
