Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Today on May 25, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the operations at the Shiveekhuren-Sekhee border checkpoint in the country’s southern region resumed operations.

By having its operations resume, it becomes possible to transport mining products, especially coal in containers through the checkpoint.

Due to the detection of the first COVID-19 case in Alxa League of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, PRC, a decision was made to stop the border checkpoint’s operations from October 16, 2021 in connection with the suggestion put forth by the side of China.

As facilities for disinfection as well as exchanging containers have been constructed between the two countries’ borders, the two sides came to an agreement to resume the border checkpoint’s operations, which allows mining products to be transported in containers.
