‘Year of the Tiger’ coin released

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Treasury Department of the Bank of Mongolia (BoM) has issued a 1 oz 999 silver bullion coin marking the Year of the Tiger. BoM’s ‘12 zodiac animals’ series was launched with the release of ‘Year of the Rat’ coin in 2020, followed by the 2021 ‘Year of the Ox’ coin.


The bullion coins in the collection features the zodiac animals portrayed in a traditional painting style. The coins are made using the Smartminting technology.


‘Gilded Charming Tiger’ 31.1 g silver coin and ‘Into the Wild - Bear’ 31.1g silver franchise coin have also been issued.


The new coins will become available on BoM’s coin.mongolbank.mn website on February 10.
