Works being carried out to conduct direct flight between Mongolia and the U.S in 2023

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On January 28, officials convened for the second time to exchange information on the progress of preparations being carried out to launch direct flights between Mongolia and the U.S.
During the meeting, they discussed the progress of works for establishing an air transportation agreement between the two countries as well as the requirements that need to be met in order to conduct direct flights. MIAT Mongolian Airlines also did a presentation on conducting direct flights between Mongolia and the U.S, and the type of aircraft that is deemed the most suitable for the flight.
Ambassador of Mongolia to the U.S. U.Batbayar said, “Discussions are taking place with the side of the U.S in order to accelerate works to launch direct flights. We aim to have the first flight conducted in 2023.”
The meeting was attended by Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia (MCAA) S.Munkhnasan, MCAA Air Transportation Policy and Regulations Department Head G.Batbayar, CEO of MIAT Mongolian Airlines B.Munkhtamir, and other relevant officials.
