Mining Minister meets Turkish Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister
of Mining and Heavy Industry G.Yondon held a meeting with Ambassador of Turkey
to Mongolia Zafer Ateş on January 11 to discuss Mongolia-Turkey relations and
cooperation in mining.
Minister G.Yondon expressed
his pleasure that bilateral relations have been rapidly developing in economic
cultural and educational areas in recent years.
Expressing his hope that
advancements will be made in bilateral relations in mining and heavy industry
during the Ambassador’s tenure, the Minister said there are ample opportunities
for cooperation as Turkey has abundant reserves of some minerals.
Ambassador Zafer Ateş, during the meeting, noted that trade between the two countries increased to USD 74 million from USD 40 million in 2021 with Mongolia exporting molybdenum and silver to Turkey, expressing readiness to deepen cooperation in mining and heavy industry.
