At the meeting, IOM Program Manager Victor Lutenco presented the results of the Research Study on
Assessing the Effectiveness of Migration Restrictions in Ulaanbaatar City and
Migrants’ Vulnerability. The study highlights that most of the rural-to-urban
migrants are young people aged between 20 and 29.
The IOM Program Manager also underscored the need for policy
improvement as some pressing issues such as air pollution and traffic
congestion are directly related to migration and proposed cooperation in the
effort.
The sides discussed ways to solve migration issues and
agreed to study possibilities for the cooperation.
