Respects paid to the Statue of Chinggis Khaan

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Today on November 5, Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene, Speaker of the State Great Khural G.Zandanshatar, members of the parliament and the cabinet, capital city governing body, and laureates of the Order of Chinggis Khaan paid respect to the Statue of Chinggis Khaan.
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Great Chinggis Khaan, the National Pride Day, which falls on the first day of winter according to the Mongolian Lunar Calendar, laureates of the Order of Chinggis Khaan and top state officials pay respects to the Khaan’s statue each year. As for the President of Mongolia, he will be arriving in the country tomorrow following his participation in the World Leaders Summit held during the UN Climate Change Conference taking place in Glasgow, UK.
Per the decree of the President of Mongolia issued on January 9, 2012, it was decided to officially declare Chinggis Khaan’s day of birth as ‘National Pride Day’ based on the conclusion of a corresponding working group as well as the suggestion received from the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.
