'100 years of Mongolian-Russian cooperation' international scientific conference held

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, the Academy of Sciences, the Bank of Mongolia, Erdenet Mining Corporation and  Ulaanbaatar Railway JSC jointly organized on October 19 an international scientific conference '100 years of Mongolian-Russian cooperation' in dedication to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Russia.  The event was co-organized by the Mongolian Alumni Association of the Irkutsk State University and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Mongolia


Speaker of the State Great Hural G.Zandanshatar addressed the conference. Highlighting that in the past century the two nations had the years that jointly fought for freedom and independence, overcame the difficulties together, made a great construction development, strengthened the friendly relations by active cooperation in all possible fields of social relations, he urged to cooperate for making the new century of the relations be a century of rapid development of economic cooperation.


For her part, Foreign Minister B.Battsegtseg noted that in accordance with the joint plan for celebrating the 100th years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the sides have implemented many important measures in the fields of politics, defence, science, technology, education, culture and humanitarian affairs and she emphasized the plan for the rest of the year, including some big events such as high level mutual visits.  


Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Mongolia I.K.Azizov, Governor of the BoM B.Lkhagvasuren, and Vice President of MAS G.Chuluunbaatar delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.


During the conference, Mongolian and Russian scholars and officials made 23 presentations on bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, energy, humanitarian and education, and the history of the two countries.
