Foreign Minister B. Battsetseg meets with her Indian counterpart

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Minister of Foreign Affairs B. Battsetseg held a meeting with External Affairs Minister of India Dr. S. Jaishankar during her participation in the Sixth Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) taking place in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.


During the meeting, the Ministers noted that the Mongolia – India strategic partnership relationship has been rapidly developing in recent years and concurred to discuss the directions of cooperation for the next five years in the near future. They also considered necessary to organize high-level reciprocal visits and explore new areas of cooperation while forwarding ongoing major projects, such as the Oil Refinery Project.


Mentioning that the COVID-19 situation in India is relatively subsiding and infections are decreasing, Mr. Jaishankar introduced that the country is actively working with foreign countries to facilitate travel of citizens and proposed to reach agreement on certain issues, including the vaccine certificate, in the near future.


Minister B.Battsetseg noted that the cooperation between Mongolia and India has been active even during the difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic while expressing commitment to work for intensifying cooperation after the pandemic.
