Parliamentary Standing Committee Chair meets Indian Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Member of the State Great Khural, Chair of the Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy, Member of the Mongolian-Indian Parliamentary Group in the State Great Khural B.Battumur met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Mongolia Mohinder Pratap Singh on September 24 to discuss relations and cooperation between the two countries in defense, energy, tourism, information technology and other sectors.  

 

At the beginning of the meeting, the Standing Committee Chair said India is Mongolia’s strategic partner and spiritual neighbor, and that active cooperation between the legislatures of the two countries is key to expanding bilateral relations and cooperation in all sectors. 

 

The sides noted that the two countries have been actively cooperating amid the pandemic and supporting each other, stressing the importance of 100 thousand doses of Remdesivir supplied from India on August 30 has in protecting public health against COVID-19. They also undertook to continue to make efforts to successfully implement the oil refinery project within the planned time frame and had discussions about stepping up the efforts to launch trial export of coking coal to India to increase trade between the two countries.
