Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Labor and Social Protection A.Ariunzaya, Minister of Construction and Urban Development B.Munkhbaatar, Asian Development Bank’s Country Director for Mongolia Pavit Ramachandran and other officials attended the opening of a new assessment and certification center at Polytechnic College of Construction on August 19.
The center was built by a local company as part of the ‘Skills for Employment’ joint project between the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and ADB. The center has 10 training facilities for 7 types of construction jobs, one laboratory and 28 rooms.
During the opening ceremony, Minister A.Ariunzaya emphasized that training skilled workers to meet the labor market demand and the needs of the employer and having them employed is key to moving from welfare to work.
The opening of the center brings opportunities to train skilled workers for one of the key development sector of construction, introduce advanced technologies in their training, upskill educational workers, assess and certify people in the sector.
