Mongolia repatriates 34,553 citizens to date

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. According to the decision of the Government of Mongolia and State Emergency Commission (SEC), Mongolia started organizing charter flights to repatriate its citizens, stranded abroad due to the pandemic, from January 28, 2020. As May 18, the country has brought 34,553 Mongolian nationals back from 93 countries.


In specific, the country has repatriated 27,753 citizens by 170 charter flights and 6,788 citizens by ground transport means through the crossing checkpoints.


For this month, the SEC has scheduled 16 charter flights. As of May 18, six charter flights have brought 908 people home, reports the Operative Staff of the SEC.
