Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. In the first four months of 2021, 23.8
thousand mothers gave birth at the national level, which decreased by 1158
(4.6%) compared to the same period of the previous year. There were 65 (0.3%)
home births registered, decreased by 32 (33.0%) compared to the same period of
the previous year.
According to the ‘Electronic birth registration’ by the Ministry of Health, 6026 mothers gave birth, and 6099 children got registration numbers in April 2021. Out of total number of newborns, 3148 were boys and 2951 were girls, 145 twins. The average weight of newborns was 3422 grams, and the average height of newborns was 50.8 cm. In terms of age group, 3.7 percent of mothers gave birth were, aged up to 20, 92.0 percent were aged 20-39 and 4.3 percent were aged 40 and over.
