Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ As part of the second phase of the ‘Combating
Gender-Based Violence in Mongolia’ project implemented by the United Nations
Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Government of Mongolia with funding support
from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, MNT 95.3 million worth
of personal protective equipment kits were provided for 17 one-stop service centers
and 15 temporary shelters. UNFPA Mongolia Head of Office Kaori Ishikawa handed
over the equipment to the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs on April 6.
It is of great importance to ensure normal operations of
the one-stop service centers and shelters for violence victims and to comply
with infection control measures as COVID-19 is spreading. The PPE kits consist
of surgical masks, protective wears, N95 masks, goggles, face coverings,
gloves, and hand sanitizers.
