(WHO) in Mongolia Sergey Diorditsa to discuss the current COVID-19 situation in
the country and control efforts.
The Health Minister thanked the WHO for providing supports
at this time when the daily COVID-19 infection rate is on the rise. WHO
Representative Sergey Diorditsa said the organization would do as much as
possible to support the Ministry of Health that is working at full capacity.
The WHO has been giving specific recommendations to
countries based on its studies across the world. The organization has been working
together with the government and health ministry of Mongolia over the last
year, regularly giving advice and information on COVID-19 response actions and
cooperating for necessary measures. The sides underscored that they would
continue to cooperate and take necessary measures in that manner.
The Ministry of Health has been issuing prompt decisions on
account of the COVID-19 situation. It has been doing weekly planning and taking
measures on the issues regarding the number of hospital beds and health
workers. Minister S.Enkhbold said that efforts are underway to do the planning
and take actions without disruptions in basic health care
provision.
Noting that the organization will keep providing
recommendations and assistance, the WHO Representative asked the Ministry to
address the difference in quarantine lengths in the capital city and rural
areas.
The sides agreed on the necessity of paying greater
attention to the monitoring of COVID-19 patients in home isolation and
preparations for transfer to the hospital in case their conditions worsen, and
discussed actions they are taking in those efforts.
