Over 126 thousand people vaccinated

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the last 24 hours, 561 healthcare workers of 74 teams worked at 40 locations, immunizing 13,381 people in total.  


126,449 people have been involved in immunization in the capital city so far and it takes 6 percent of the target groups. 19,973 people are planned to be inoculated with the first dose of vaccine today, Department Head of the Ministry of Health G.Boldmaa presents.


According to recommendations by the WHO, target groups are defined in line with available number of vaccine doses. Healthcare workers, responsive measure teams working at infection clusters, people aged 50-64 who are at risk to be affected by infection and teachers and staff at educational institutions are being involved in immunization in the first place. 96 percent of entire healthcare workers, 98 percent of other sectors serving in responsive measure teams and 48 percent of employees in education sector have had the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine so far. Moreover, over 70 percent of entities and organizations whose operations can not be halted, has been vaccinated.


“232,500 people will be inoculated with 464,400 doses of COVID-19 vaccines received by the country. Currently, 126,449 people have been immunized and 105,000 doses of vaccine have left. 25 percent of over 507 thousand people of the target groups have been involved in vaccination. The remaining 380 thousand people are planned to be immunized after the country receives the next batch of vaccine,” she added.
