SEC planning to repatriate 800-1000 citizens monthly

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At its irregular meeting today, January 30, the Cabinet members heard a report on ongoing works on prevention of COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Four charter flights have been arranged to be conducted in February to repatriate around 850 Mongolian citizens. Specifically, charter flights to Seoul were scheduled on February 3 and 26, to Tokyo on February 10 and to Istanbul on February 24.

 

Further, it is being planned to perform at least one charter flight a week to bring 800-1000 citizens within a month. According to report by the Deputy Prime Minister, 2659 of 8,625 people /5013 people in South Korea/ submitted requests to immediately return home. 563 of these citizens are in Europe, 6,441 are in Asia, 1,478 are in USA, 140 are in Australia and three are in African countries.

 

Furthermore, 1,344 citizens are being quarantined at 24 isolation facilities on the national level. 9300 beds are planned to be used nationwide for isolating, supervising and providing medical assistance and service to people infected with COVID-19. In the capital city, 4,640 beds will be used for five stages and 1,470 beds are ready for use. As of current, 37 percent of the prepared beds are being used in the capital city.
