Khovd /MONTSAME/. Thirteen stamps are being kept in the museum of Khovd aimag since 1930.


These stamps were made at the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 1921-1928 and had been used since the establishment of the administration units in Mongolia. These stamps, which proclaim and certify the norms of authority and the rule of law, were used by the administration units in the present-day Gobi-Altai, Bayan-Ulgii, and Khovd aimags. The letters of these stamps are written in Mongolian script and the Soyombo is engraved at the center.


Stamp of the governor of Sutai Uul khoshuu of Khantaishir Uul aimag

The stamp of the governor of Sutai Uul khoshuu of Khantaishir Uul aimag, which was Erdene beis khoshuu of Zasagt khan aimag (today's Darvi soum of Khovd aimag) was made of steel in 1925. It weighs 633 grams, 1.7 cm thick and 6.7 cm high and wide.

The stamp written in Mongolia script reads “Governor of Sutai Uul khoshuu of Khantaishir Uul aimag”. The name of the khoshuu were engraved in four lines. The Soyombo which serves as the national symbol is in the center.




Stamp of the governor of Narankhairkhan Uul khoshuu of Chandmani Uul aimag

The stamp of the governor of Narankhairkhan Uul khoshuu of Chandmani Uul aimag, which encompass the territories of today's Buyant and Erdeneburen soums of Khovd aimag, is made of steel, weighs 820 grams with height and width of 6.6 cm and thickness of 1.6.

Soyombo is engraved in the center of the stamp and it is written in Mongolian script which reads “The stamp of the governor of Narankhairkhan Uul khoshuu of Chandmani Uul aimag”. It was registered in the museum of Khovd aimag on May 1, 1962.




Stamp of the governor of Khantaishir Uul region

The stamp of the governor of Bus Khairkhan Uul khoshuu, which include territories of today's Darvi and Tonkhil soums of Gobi-Altai aimag, Tsetseg soum of Khovd aimag, was made of brass in 1928. It weighs 480 grams, 5.5 cm high and wide and 1.5 cm thick.




Stamp of the governor of Uriankhai khoshuu of Khovd aimag

The stamp which has the writing “Governor of Uriankhai khoshuu of Khovd aimag” on it weighs 680 grams, 6.6 cm high and wide, and 1.5 cm thick and made of steel. Uriankhai khoshuu included territories of today's Mukhkhairkhan and Duut soums of Khovd aimag and Bulgan, Buyant and Altai soums of Bayan-Ulgii aimag.
