‘Seeking to eliminate TB in Asia’ scientific conference takes place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On December 17, the Ministry of Health, the National Center for Communicable Diseases, and the Korean National Tuberculosis Association jointly organized the third international scientific conference, ‘Seeking to eliminate TB in Asia’, online in aims of discussing the current situation in countries regarding TB, further cooperation, and sharing good practices. Healthcare professionals from South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Cambodia, East Timor and Mongolia attended the conference.
In her remarks, Deputy Minister of Health Sh.Ankhmaa highlighted the importance of keeping the quality of healthcare services for TB during the time of the pandemic, and expressed gratitude for representatives from various countries for participating and wished success for the organization of the conference.
As tuberculosis continues to be one of the top 10 causes of death in the world with most deaths being recorded in Asia and Africa, it is crucial to continue to provide healthcare services for other infectious diseases aside from COVID-19.
