Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In conjunction with the Government decision made yesterday, November 29 on extension of the period of strict-lockdown by 10 days in the capital city and two aimags, charter flights will not be conducted until December 11, Deputy Prime Minister Ya.Sodbaatar informed.

Further the Deputy PM said that we made the decision by taking into account the capacity of isolation facilities. Over 8000 citizens who are close contacts of local transmission cases are being quarantined at the isolation facilities. Charter flights will be conducted if these citizens test negative for the coronavirus after carrying out repeated tests on them. As suggested by scholars, it is possible to operate charter flights after completing 14-day mandatory isolation period of the close contacts and vacating isolation facilities. Moreover, inspection has been made several times at the isolation facilities between August and October and issues related to the facilities will be resolved.  Further, we will require citizens returning from overseas countries to follow infection protection rules strictly and pursue a principle to isolate one person in one room. A working group headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Health Ya.Amarjargal is making assessment at all isolation facilities again.
