Progress of “Darkhan leather complex” project checked

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ During his working trip to Darkhan-Uul aimag, President Kh.Battulga checked work progress of "Darkhan leather complex" project, which is under construction in Khongor soum of the aimag.
Commissioning of the plant with an annual capacity to process 10 million tons of leather, 11 thousand tons of wool and one thousand tons of cashmere will enable to produce world standard, value added leather goods and supply them to global market.
Infrastructure works of water recycling facility, substations for electricity supply, engineering grid and steam station are currently under development. European technology will be introduced in water recycling facility of the complex and Mongolian engineers are realizing the works, the project team highlights. Since water treated by the facility is possible to be re-used in metallurgical and other plants being operated in Darkhan, it has high economic and ecological benefits.
The project team is also working on trade of products manufactured in the complex at global market and an agreement was established with a Spanish company to supply 600 thousand pieces of processed skins of goats and sheep.
