PM becomes acquainted with autoroad construction work

Darkhan-Uul /MONTSAME/. On September 17, Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh worked in Darkhan-Uul aimag. In the framework of his working visit, the PM became acquainted with the construction of the autoroad connecting Darkhan-Ulaanbaatar.
Minister of Road and Transport Development L.Khaltar said, “To ensure the safety of citizens travelling in the direction, we are planning to open Section 1,3, and 5 of the 204 km autoroad on November 1. However, there is a possibility for the date to be postponed by 15 days due to precipitation. This year, road construction was halted for 37 days because of rainfall.”
Noting the delay factors such as the quarantine measures currently being implemented despite there being no local transmission in the country, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of completing the project with high quality as it will serve as the main road for not only citizens living in Darkhan and Ulaanbaatar, but also for international transit transport and citizens living in the western region.
The 204 km autoroad being built with financing from the Asian Development Bank is planned to be fully commissioned in November 2021.
