Mongolia’s Permanent Representative attends event for 10th anniversary of UN Women

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. At a special event for the 10th anniversary
of the establishment of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) on September 15, Mongolia’s Permanent
Representative to the United Nations V. Enkhbold delivered remarks
on behalf of the Asia-Pacific countries.
The event was featured with the participation of executive directors of the organization and high ranking officials, including former UN Women Executive Director and United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Ms. Michelle Bachelet. Representatives of the UN member states, the United Nations and civil societies discussed the achievements of the UN Women in gender quality and empowering women since its establishment in 2010, future challenges and role of UN Women in resolving them.
Moreover, the Executive Board Second Regular Session of the organization started the same day, where Mr.Enkhbold made a speech at the opening. Mongolia works as a member of the UN Women Executive Board from 2019 to 2021, and Mongolia’s Permanent Representative V. Enkhbold has been elected as a Vice President of the Executive Board’s Bureau this year.
