Foreign Minister meets Ambassador of Russia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On July 10, Minister of Foreign Affairs N.Enkhtaivan received the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Mongolia I.K.Azizov. At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador I.K. Azizov conveyed a congratulatory message to Minister N.Enkhtaivan from Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov on the occasion of his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.
In his message, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that the further expansion of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Mongolia and Russia meets the fundamental interests of both countries and will contribute to strengthening stability and security in Asia.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister N. Enkhtaivan and Ambassador I.K. Azizov exchanged views on enriching the comprehensive strategic partnership between Mongolia and Russia with new content and joint celebration of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year.
In addition, the parties emphasized the importance of continued close cooperation in order to enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and promote such major projects as the Power of Siberia-2 and the modernization of Mongolia's railways.
On behalf of the diplomatic corps in Ulaanbaatar, Ambassador I.K. Azizov congratulated Foreign Minister N. Enkhtaivan on his appointment and wished him success.
