Warning issued for blizzards and strong winds

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The National Agency of Meteorology and Environment has issued a warning for blizzards and strong winds throughout the country during night time on May 14-15, with wind speeds reaching 24 m/sec at some times.
Wet snow and rain are expected in northern parts of central aimags tonight on May 14. Precipitation will continue in most parts of central aimags, eastern parts of western aimags, and in northern parts of eastern aimags on May 15, and in northeastern parts of central aimags and in most parts of eastern aimags on May 16 and 17.
Wind speed will be 18-20 m/sec in most parts of the country on May 15, and 18-20 m/sec in the eastern region on May 16 and 17, reaching 26-28 m/sec at some times.
In the mountainous areas of Khuvsgul and Khentei, near Khurenbelchir, in the basins of Tuul, Terelj, Kherlen, Onon, Ulz, and Khalkh rivers, the temperature will range from -4 to -9 degrees Celsius during the night, and +5 to +10 during the day.
In the depression of the Great Lakes and the desert area near the Altai Mountains, the temperature will be +8 to +13 during the night, and +25 to +30 during the day.
In other areas, the night-time temperature will be 0 to +5 degrees Celsius, and daytime temperature will be +9 to +14 degrees Celsius. Warmer temperatures are expected in the western region from May 17.
