ADB technical assistance team works in Dundgobi aimag

Dundgobi /MONTSAME/. The technical assistance team of the ADB program, ‘Aimag and Soum Centers Regional Development Investment Program’, worked in Dundgobi aimag for two days to conduct basic research.
The team worked in the aimag to study opportunities to involve the aimag in the program that will be implemented with financing from the Government of Mongolia and the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development, and define the infrastructure issues of which construction can be launched for starters.
They held a meeting with the aimag governing body as well as representatives of corresponding organizations to discuss the current socio-economic status of the aimag, the goal and objectives of the Aimag and Soum Centers Regional Development Investment Program, results of the study conducted on all sectors for the region, pressing issues, and possible solutions.
Following the introduction of the general plan for land-use planning, the infrastructure work for Mandalgobi and Saintsagaan soums, and the development plan for agricultural production, the team visited the sites to become acquainted with its conditions.
While the first phase of the program was implemented in western aimags, the program’s second phase is planned to be implemented in Dundgobi aimag.
