Capital City Governor holds regular online briefing

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Governor of the Capital City S.Amarsaikhan is providing weekly online briefing regarding current matters, starting from March 30. The Governor yesterday held the regular briefing on timely issues. 


At the start of the briefing, he cited that Ulaanbaatar city has brotherhood relationship with over 40 cities of foreign countries and are exchanging information with the cities on ongoing measures in prevention of COVID-19 infection. Governor S.Amarsaikhan called for entities operating in the capital city in charge of engineering facility throughout the capital city not to cut electricity power and cause pressure on citizens as claiming payment in this time of economic difficulty, resulting lack of income to individuals and entities due to COVID-19 infection.


To implement the Government’s decision to ban the consumption of raw coal, public and administrative organizations of the capital city worked at a state of heightened readiness according to the order of the Governor of the Capital City from October 1, 2019 to April 1, 2020. In the information, City Governor mentioned that incentives worth MNT 855.9 million have been given to 2098 staffs of 43 organizations for their overtime work. Furthermore, in conjunction with completion of the term of the state of heightened readiness on April 1, governors of the districts will be further fully responsible for supervision on consumption of raw coal and issues related to selling and supply of refined fuel.


In frames of the realization of Government Resolution No.62, a total of 135 thousand CO detectors have been distributed to the households and 65 thousand more CO detectors will be received and distributed to the households next week. Moreover, governors of the districts were assigned to ensure winter preparations for 2020-2021 beginning from upcoming May.


In addition, the City Governor ordered corresponding officials to intensify measures for prevention of COVID-19 infection which is spreading globally. Within the framework of it, decontamination works are being done at 132 thousand entities and public-owned streets and areas. It is planned to disinfect pit toilets of households living in ger area by coming May 1 and the decontamination will be conducted annually in the future.


Also, Governor S.Amarsaikhan informed the public on a decision to urgently commission Maternal and Child Health Center of the capital city which is being erected nearby Buyant-Ukhaa khoroolol, Khan-Uul district. Construction progress of the hospital is running at 95 percent so far.


To conclude his briefing, the Governor warned citizens from the danger of fire since several fire cases have occurred due to reckless acts of the citizens.
