Snowfall expected in the northern region

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Snowfall is expected in the northern parts of western, central, and eastern aimags in the next few days.
Snow is expected in the mountainous area of Khuvsgul on January 23, in the mountainous area of Khentii, and in the basins of Onon and Ulz rivers on January 24. Wind speed will reach 12-14 m/sec in some parts of the country on January 23, and in the eastern region on January 24.
In the depression of Lake Uvs and Darkhad, in the head of Zavkhan river, in the basins of Ider, Tes, Baidrag, and Khalkh rivers, the temperature will range from -35 to -40 degrees Celsius during the night, and -23 to -28 during the day.
In mountainous areas of Khangai, Khuvsgul, and Khentei, in the depression of the Great Lakes, and in the basis of Eg-Uur, Orkhon-Selenge, Kharaa, Yuruu, Tuul, Terelj, Kherlen, Onon, and Ulz rivers, the temperature will be -28 to -33 during the night, and -14 to -19 during the day.
In the southern Gobi region, the temperature will be -11 to -16 during the night, and -3 to -8 during the day.
In other areas, the night-time temperature will be -20 to -25 degrees Celsius, and daytime temperature will be -8 to -13 degrees Celsius. The cold will ease throughout the country from January 25.
