Proposal made to ensure balance in trade turnover between Mongolia and Russia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ During his attendance at the 28th Annual Pacific Parliamentary Forum in Australia, Speaker of the State Great Khural G.Zandanshatar met with Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev.


At the meeting, Speaker G.Zandanshatar emphasized the importance of enriching bilateral friendly ties with trade and economic  content and carrying out joint projects and programs.


Underlining that Russian President V.Putin’s visit to Mongolia made last year has given significant impetus to bilateral cooperation, Speaker G.Zandanshatar noted that the Victory of Khalkhyn Gol Battle, whose 80th anniversary was marked last year, is a joint victory of the people of the two countries and strong indication of friendship.   


Speaker G.Zandashatar said that he considers it is crucial to ensure balance in bilateral trade turnover. Moreover, he expressed his confidence that the Federation Council would pay special attention on reducing tariff on Mongolian export products or involving them in preferential condition as well as making major projects such as gas pipeline and railway actual works without delay.


In turn, Mr. K.Kosachev said “I love Mongolia and I visited your beautiful country several times. Enriching and developing bilateral ties with new content in new era is our duty.”


“It is important for Mongolia to actively participate in effective projects such as Eurasian Economic Union and Economic Corridor. We will work towards and make our proposed and agreed issues actual works,” he added.
