Cabinet supports draft agreement on additional financing for Ulaanbaatar clean air project
PoliticsUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. During its meeting on
November 19, the Cabinet supported the draft agreement of additional financing
for ‘Ulaanbaatar clean air project’. It was decided to issue Prime Minister’s
ordinance on authorizing to sign the agreement if it is backed by the relevant
Standing Committees of the Parliament.
With the additional financing of the soft loan worth USD12
million to be disbursed by World Bank’s International Development Association, city-owned
heating boilers will be removed, households will be connected to central
heating grid as well as air quality monitoring equipment will be purchased for
the Metropolitan Professional Inspection Department.
Moreover, it includes more works including establishing Infrastructure Center among about 200 households in the ger area to stimulate reduction of air pollution /insulation, affordable house, eco-house, green credit fund and energy efficient heating etc/, to support introduction of non-coal energy-efficient heating equipment and distribute storage heaters up to 5000 households.
