MONTSAME agency elected as OANA’s Executive Board member

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Delegates of MONTSAME national news agency of Mongolia, led by Director-General B.Ganchimeg are participating in the 17th General Assembly of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) which is running for the second day in Seoul, the Republic of Korea.
Attendants of the meeting today discussed issues on organizational structure and elected its chair and Executive Board members, which will work for upcoming three years.
South Korea’s Yonhap news agency, host agency of this year’s General Assembly, will serve as the OANA Chair for next three years and Mongolia's MONTSAME Agency, Australian Associated Press, Turkey's Anadolu, Azerbaijan’s Azertac, Malaysia's Bernama, Bahrain’s NBA, Iran’s IRNA, Japan’s Kyodo, Lebanon’s NNA, Vietnam’s VNA, Russia’s Itar TASS news agency and China’s Xinhua News Agency and South Korea’s Yonhap news agency were elected as OANA’s Executive Board members.
Since
its joining the OANA in 1981, MONTSAME national news agency has
been actively taking part in its activities. MONTSAME
agency was elected as an Executive Board member first time at the regular General Assembly
Meeting that took place in 2010 in Istanbul, Turkey and it successfully hosted Executive Board meeting in Ulaanbaatar city in 2011. Moreover, the agency was re-elected
as an Executive Board member in 2013 at the meeting took place in Moscow,
Russia and as a member of the organization’s technical committee in 2016.
