Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh meets Russian President Vladimir Putin

Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh paid a courtesy call on President of Russia Vladimir Putin during his official visit to Mongolia at the invitation of President Kh.Battulga. After thanking the Russian President for taking part in the anniversary celebration of the Victory of the Khalkhiin Gol Battles, PM U.Khurelsukh expressed his delight with the newly signed treaty on Friendly Relations and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. 


Afterwards, the Mongolian Prime Minister remarked to put effort to increase Mongolian exports to Russia and for trade facilitation with a view to broaden trade and economic cooperation in frames of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. 


Noting the opportunities to develop bilateral trade and economic cooperation, President Vladimir Putin pledged to provide support to diversify the Mongolian economy and carry out joint projects. 


On the same day, President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga and President of Russia Vladimir Putin laid wreaths at the monument to Hero of the Soviet Union Marshal Georgy Zhukov and paid respect to military veterans.


The monument to Marshal Georgy Zhukov, Hero of Mongolia and four-time Hero of the Soviet Union was erected in Ulaanbaatar city in 1981 in memory of the Khalkhin Gol Battles. He was the commander of the 57th Special Corps of the Soviet-Mongolian Army Group, remarkably contributing to the Mongolian-Soviet joint victory in the Khalkhiin Gol Battles in 1939. 


During his previous visit to Mongolia in 2014 on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the victory of the Khalkhiin Gol Battles, the President of Russia also took part in the wreath-laying ceremony at the monument to Marshal Georgy Zhukov.
