Speaker meets with the US National Security Advisor

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Parliament Speaker G.Zandanshatar received National Security Advisor to the US President. Ambassador John Bolton on July 1.

Noting that the United States is Mongolia’s third neighbor, Speaker G.Zandanshatar expressed gratitude for the country's support for democratic reform in Mongolia from the beginning. “We are truly proud of the peacekeepers of our countries serving together in Afghanistan and Iraq. We hope for your support in further development of bilateral relations,” he noted. 

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Mr. John Bolton said that the relations between the two countries are expanding in the fields of politics, economy and defense and expressed confidence in further development. He also emphasized that increasing trade and investment is important for strengthening relations, noting about the great opportunities to cooperate with Mongolia in this field. 

Speaker noted that we pay great attention to the investment, technical and technological cooperation as the country is rich in mineral resources and expressed hope for cooperation in this field. The parties discussed transport conditions for exporting mining products and increasing the traffic volume.

Mr. John Bolton noted that there are opportunities to expand business cooperation through increasing the trade and investment. “We will make proposals on the expansion of cooperation and dialogue between the legislative bodies of the two countries. Moreover, we plan to invite American businessmen, especially the agriculture businesses, to Mongolia in cooperation with the National Chamber of Commerce,” he noted.
