National Statistics Office hosting international meeting

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. National Statistics Office of Mongolia is organizing the 14th meeting of the High-level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity Building (HLG-PCCB) for Statistics for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Ulaanbaatar on May 22-25.
Members of HLG consist of heads and chief statisticians
of 24 countries representing 13 regions of the world. The HLG-PCCB mandated to
provide strategic leadership for the sustainable development goal
implementation process as it concerns statistical monitoring and reporting.
Ms. Ariunzaya Ayush, Chairperson of National Statistics
Office of Mongolia, is working as one of the Co-chairs of the HLG-PCCB. The meeting is being attended by over 30 participants from members of HLG-PCCB led by director of
United Nations Statistics Division and representatives from international and
donor organizations, including Stefan Schweinfest, Director of
United Nations Statistics Division, Haishan Fu, director of World Bank’s
Development Data Group, Gemma Van Halderen, Director of the Statistics Division
in the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific,
Хосе Росеро Moncayo, Director in charge of the Statistics Division at United
Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, Rachael Beaven, Data Revolution Lead
of Department for International Development, El Iza Mohamedou, the Deputy
Secretariat Manager at PARIS21.
Moreover, heads and chief statisticians of over 20 countries such as United States, Angola, Argentina, Denmark, Hungary, Ecuador, Kenya,
Tanzania, South Africa, Palestine and Switzerland are participating.
During the meeting, participants have discussions on
membership of HLG-PCCB, members role, review of documents of 3rd
World Data Forum held in Switzerland in 2020, financing of the statistics and
more efficient UN Statistical system.
