Grand prize winner of Asian Championship of Folklore to win 4,000 euros

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The first ever Asian Championship of Folklore - Asia Folk 2019 will be taking place in Ulaanbaatar on June 12-16. Over 100 folklore artists from over 20 countries, such as Malaysia, China, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Russia and Kazakhstan, have registered for the folklore championship so far.


With certified judges from the World Association of Folklore Festivals as the judges for the championship, the grand prize winner will receive 4,000 euros, while the second and third place winners will receive 2,000 euros and 1,000 euros respectively. Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, the Culture and Arts Authority, ArtLar Culture NGO are the main organizers of the event with the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, World Association of Folklore Festivals, European Association of Folklore Association, and Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO as the co-organizers.


Alongside the performances of the organizing and guest countries and gala concert, events such as Asian handicraft fair and exhibition, Asian food festival and a master class to promote Mongolian culture and heritage will be taking place during the festival.
