International conference on applied sciences takes place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST), the First International Conference on Applied Sciences and Engineering - FICASE 2019 was organized by the School of Applied Sciences of MUST on April 5-6. The conference was attended by 30 scholars and researchers from 7 countries as well as over 200 Mongolian researchers. About 120 presentations on applied mathematics, chemistry, biophysics, biotechnology, environment and nanoscience were discussed.


Results of researches made by professors and researchers of the Darmstadt University of Technology, Aachen University of Technology and Brandenburg University of Technology of Germany, Akita University and Kumamoto University of Japan, Nanjing University of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Inner Mongolia University of Technology and Nari Group Corporation of China, Irkutsk State University, East Siberia State University of Technology and Management of Russia, Czech Technical University and the National University of Laos were discussed.


The School of Applied Sciences has joint Bachelor’s programmes with Nanjing University of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University and Inner Mongolia University of Technology. Thus, MUST Director B.Ochirbat as well as the executives and professors of the school received the representatives of the universities to discuss the implementation of the joint programme and opportunities to further develop the partnership.


Professors of the School of Applied Sciences are working on a joint project together with professors of some Chinese universities and alongside the conference the professors exchanged views on the progress of the project as well as having the professors study in doctoral degree courses with full scholarship.


During the conference, Director of the School of Applied Sciences D.Gankhuyag held a meeting with the Czech representatives, signing an agreement on partnering in implementing joint advanced level programmes and financing joint research projects by launching a startup.


Projects to pitch to the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and further partnership were also discussed with the Russian representatives.
