Chess players win medals at Asian Youth Chess Championships in Sri Lanka
SportsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian chess players successfully participated
in the Asian Youth Chess Championships held in Sri Lanka on April 1-10 with
involvement of over 300 chess players from 20 countries.
In particular, Ts.Anudari grabbed the gold medal in the age category of
12 with eight points from seven wins and two draws. In the same age group, G.Khaliunaa
took fourth place after Vietnamese and Kazakhstani players. In the boys’
category, 12 year-old L.Ochirbat, with 6.5 points from four wins, and five
draws, won bronze after Chinese and Indian players.
Moreover, other players of Mongolia harvested gold, silver and bronze
medals in rapid, blitz events.
