Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On March 29, Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh received MP N.Uchral and instructors and students of Brigham Young University of the United States and representatives of Deseret International Charities.

The delegates introduced a project ‘New Home’ which is being implemented backing the Government policy to reduce air pollution in Ulaanbaatar city. The students are testing improved insulation of Mongolian ger and newly invented energy-efficient heater.

It is verified that it is possible to decline energy consumption 5 times and provide Mongolian ger with constant heat with 1.5 kW energy by improving its insulation. Most importantly, it is possible to fully eliminate use of raw coal. The students are also building 53 square meter house, shaped like Mongolian ger for testing the insulation and the heater. The result will be introduced to the Government of Mongolia by testing it in over 100 households in ger area of Songinokhairkhan district for a year, said project leader and professor of Brigham Young University Brain Mazze.

"Everyone’s engagement is crucial to stop air pollution in Ulaanbaatar city. I am thankful to you on introducing advanced technologies when the Government banned consumption of raw coal starting from May 15, 2019. The Government will support your work if it is proven effective,” said the Prime Minister.
