Mongolia-Chile consultative meeting takes place
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The first consultative meeting
between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Republic of Chile was
held in Santiago, Chile on January 16.
At the consultative meeting, the sides, under the objective
to develop Mongolia-Chile friendly relations and cooperation, agreed to expand
cooperation in mining sector, for instance, by establishing Memorandum of
Understanding between Ministries of Mining of the two countries, training
professionals in Chile and studying Chile’s experience of building economic
diversification based on mining as well as establishing free-trade agreements and improving relations between entrepreneurs of both countries and organizing business
forums. They also exchanged views on political, social and
economic conditions of Northeast Asia, Central Asia and Latin America.
Prior to the consultative meeting, State Secretary of the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs D.Davaasuren met with Ms. Carolina Valdivia, Under-Secretary
for Foreign Affairs of Chile. At this meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness
to develop bilateral cooperation and agreed to explore all possible ways for achieving
it. Moreover, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries
of Foreign Affairs, creating a consultation mechanism in political sphere.
