Book ‘Mongolians in Britain 55’ to be published next year

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ 2018 marks the 55th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. ‘G-StudioMN’ photo studio established in the city of London is implementing ‘Mongolians in Britain-55’ project to promote Mongolians living in Britain through photos as well as to support cooperation between citizens of Mongolia and Great Britain.  

 

The first phase of the project or 55 series of photos have been completed shooting beginning from February 2018. The project aimed to involve Mongolians working in many sectors in Britain and making certain contributions to English society. Moreover, representatives of non-government organizations founded by Mongolians in Britain mostly got involved in the project and the photos were taken in London, Manchester, Nottingham, Oxford, Cambridge, Peterborough and Preston cities. Mongolians in Scotland were invited in the project as well.

The second stage of the project or layout of a book ‘Mongolians in Britain’ has been started and launching of the book and photo exhibition are planned to be held in January, 2019 in London.

 

The book will be published in Mongolian and English and the organizers plan to give the book to some university and public libraries in Britain as well as in the National Library of Mongolia, archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and university libraries, as a historic fact dedicated to the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations.


The Mongolian Embassy in Britain, Ambassador N.Tulga and Head of Member of Parliament of England, Chairman of Mongolian-British Chamber of Commerce John Grogan are backing the project.


In addition, G-StudioMN is planning to realize another project on promoting British people who makes contribution and collaborates with Mongolians in 2019.
