Bayankhongor to stop usage of non-food plastic containers

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A discussion under the theme 'Ensuring food sanitation, quality, safety and packaging was held among over 200 herders and merchants of milk and milk products in Bayankhongor aimag.
During the discussion, presentations on topics 'Influence
of plastic bottle on human health' and 'Food sanitation, safety and current issues on its packaging' were delivered.
Non-food plastic containers, widely used by some 170 thousand of herding
households is affecting adversely not only to the herders also to public health.
Therefore, attendees of the discussion issued letters to the National Security Council, MPs selected from Bayankhongor aimag and the Ministry of
Food, Agriculture and Lights Industry and all citizens.
Furthermore, a project on becoming non-food plastic container free aimag was approved by the attendees, reflecting definite recommendations made by the citizens.
