Girl Scout Association of Mongolia to encourage girls and women

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Donation campaign of Friends of Asia-Pacific Region of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) took place on September 11 at Blue Sky Hotel, Ulaanbaatar.

The campaign was organized in Mongolia for the first time with a purpose to encourage Mongolian girls and young women to manage their movement and to back initiatives of the Girl Scout Association of Mongolia (GSAM). The event was attended by Friends' representatives of Asia Pacific WAGGGS from Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand.

“We are organizing this campaign to develop the GSAM. Representatives from different countries are selling products that promote features of their countries. We will donate the income of sales to the GSAM, helping it to have own office. I am confident that it will contribute the GSAM to broaden its scope and to run operation,” said Ching Ching Wee Ong, Regional Director for Asia Pacific WAGGGS. 

Organizers of the campaign underlined that they would collaborate with general education schools, businesses, international organizations and individuals to implement guidelines and programs formulated by the global movement.

The guests and delegates got acquainted with Mongolian traditions and activities of girl scouts of the schools along the meeting with female members of parliament.
