B.Gangaamaa to climb the K2 summit again

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An Honored Athlete of Mongolia, Seven Summiteer, alpinist B.Gangaamaa started a preparation for her next climb. She is arranging to climb the K2, second highest mountain in the world, in June 2018. The mountaineer has been preparing for this climb since 2014. On March 16 she announced that she’s been intensifying her climbing preparation that will be held from June 15 to August 15 via her Facebook page.
 
B.Gangaamaa climbed the K2 summit before, in August 2013. She climbed along with the mountaineers from Greece, New Zealand, Australia, Switzerland and Nepal and the climbing took two months. At that time 67 climbers started the climb, but only seven reached the peak. 22 alpinists lost their lives during the climb. The K2, elevated at 8611 meters above sea level  has been called the 'killer' mountain it has the second-highest fatality rate among the eight-thousanders.

In 2011 B.Gangaamaa became the first Mongolian woman to conquer the Mount Everest. The Seven Summits achievement of B.Gangaamaa are:

In 2016 - Vinson Massif, the highest peak in Antarctica /4897 m/.
