Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On March 7, the Institute for Mongolian studies and Department of History of the National University of Mongolia jointly signed a memorandum on implementation of the ‘Mongolian Empire History’(project with the ‘Steppe publishing’ publishing house).

“The history of Mongols is not limited with borders of Mongolia. The history of the Mongols is the history of the world. For many years our rich history has been written by foreign historians and researchers. Our historians of previous generations have also published their works. Due to the favorable international situation in  the XXI century, many new archives and innovative forms of research have become available now”  said the State Prize Laureate, Doctor of Historical Sciences D.Ulziibaatar.

The ‘5 volumes of ancient Mongolian history’ was published last year and received mass appreciation. Mongolian scholars are planning to jointly write the 5 volumes of Middle Age Mongolian history as a part of series.

The 5 volume comprehensive research work will include the Mongol Empire, the Yuan dynasty, the Golden Horde, the Chagatai Khanate and the Ilkhanate periods and will be ready in 2019.

“Scholars and historians specialized in the history of Mongol Empire, who speak Persian, Arabic, Chinese, Armenian and Latin languages are working on the project, giving an opportunity to create comprehensive work showing the political, social, economic, cultural history of the Mongols during those periods and their role to the world history” noted head of the History Department of the NUM, P.Delgerjargal.
