Outcomes of projects to be on focus

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ “Special attention will be focused on outcomes of projects and programs to be co-implemented in food, agriculture and light industrial sectors with the World Bank,” said B.Batzorig, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry.

During the November 8 meeting with World Bank Country Manager James Anderson, the Minister introduced the Government’s Plan of Action for 2016-2020 and a mid-term policy by the Ministry and underlined an important role of the food, agriculture and light industrial sector that produces 36 percent of the country’s GDP and covers 66 percent of entire workforce.     
  
Underscoring a long-term cooperation between the WB and Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, James Anderson informed about successful completion of a project ‘Mongolia Livestock and Agricultural Marketing’ which was financed with the World Bank.

In the end, the sides reached an agreement to realize agricultural project and program that will aim to create jobs and support export, in harmony with the country’s First Campaign of Meat and Milk and Third Campaign for Reclaiming Arable Lands.
